Monrovia Historic Preservation Group hosted its 36th annual tour of local homes. The tour was held on Sunday, May 6. This year’s offerings included six homes and the two local museums. The homes represent a variety of the vintage character homes that lace the neighborhoods in Monrovia, including Queen Anne Victorian, Spanish Colonial Revival, Craftsman, Tudor, and Minimal Traditional.

Mr. Monrovia, aka the unofficial Mayor, Hal Leavens, was on hand at the Victorian house on Colorado Sunday morning complete with, perhaps the youngest, barbershop quartet.  Leavens, like all the volunteers, donned a straw hat and cane, indicative of the era of the homes visited.

While this year’s attendance was low, spirits were high and those who did visit were in for a rare treat.
