As always, Monrovia Firefighters will celebrate Fire Service Day with their annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 12th. Proceeds from the breakfast help the firefighters’ community projects including their annual Spark of Love toy drive at Christmas. Throughout the year the Firefighters’ Association takes on several such community service projects. The pancake breakfast is their one big fundraiser.
The breakfast begins at 7am and concludes at 11 am. This is a real bargain at only $5 per person and children under 3 eating for free.In addition to breakfast, there will be many informational booths at the Fire Station. This year, the Monrovia Reads Literacy Van will be at the breakfast with free books for the children attending. The firefighters will have plenty of other activities for the youngsters. There will be the Junior Firefighter Challenge and a Bounce House this year. Home Depot will be on hand to provide the youngsters with a kit activity (Hint: in past years the creations made that day turn into wonderful Mother’s Day gifts).
