Old Pasadena Management District (OPMD) announced the second annual BoldPas: An Art Takeover of Old Pasadena, scheduled for May 12, 12 pm to 8 pm. BoldPas is a vibrant, free one-day art event that showcases 13 selected, site-specific, temporary art installations throughout historic Old Pasadena alleyways. The creative atmosphere is magnified when more than two dozen Old Pasadena businesses serve as Merchant Art Stops. BoldPas highlights Old Pasadena’s unique urban and historic spaces and encourages visitors to experience the space, architecture, and character of the 22-block historic district.

OPMD is thrilled to announce that after the review of numerous creative and intriguing proposals, artist selections have been made. Awarded artists are all based in the greater Los Angeles area. Event organizers made a concerted effort to support both established artists and those that are up-and-coming. Selected installations feature a “bold” theme, displaying bright colors, surprising scale, and playfulness. Artists will incorporate common, everyday found and lightweight materials to emphasize the temporary nature of the artworks. Many are interactive, encouraging hands-on engagement with viewers. The installations will be in place only for one day, creating an ephemeral nature and not-to-miss excitement.

Visitors are invited to spend the day in Old Pasadena, meandering the historic alleyways and side streets – experience Old Pasadena with new eyes.

More details will be announced as the event date draws nearer. Visit www.oldpasadena.org/boldpas for complete details.
