For the last 7 years Monrovians have celebrated the anniversary of the founding of the city with a race the week before Monrovia Day with a race from the fountain in front of the city Library to the vase of Monrovia Falls in Canyon Park. The 6.38 mile out and back race will take place this year on May 12th starting at 7 am (check in for the race begins an hour earlier). Medals will be awarded to the best finishing times for male and female participants.
The race is limited to only the first 325 participants. Those who register in advance are not only guaranteed participation, but will also save money. For those who register in advance the cost is only $35. If space is available the cost will be $45 on race day. No late starts or unregistered participants are permitted.

After the race or for those not participating there will also be a health fair from 6:30 to 10 am in Library Park.
