Two Arcadia High School students signed letters of intent Wednesday to become student-athletes in the Ivy Leagues. Darius Jing has been accepted to Yale University where he will continue his studies and also compete on the track team. Darius is a 4.0 student who has received all A’s throughout high school. In addition to his school record in the long jump, Darius is a very well-rounded student with many skills and is in my Digital Communications Internship program for the district.

Lauren Buehner has been accepted to Columbia University and will also continue her impressive track career. Lauren is very involved in the community as a volunteer and was a Rose Princess in the Tournament of Roses Parade this year. She also holds numerous school records in various sprint events.

Family, friends, coaches, district leaders, and even the cheerleading pep squad were on hand to share the excitement.
