February 18
Just after 9:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Oakwood Avenue regarding an alarm activation. An investigation revealed the suspects entered the residence by kicking in the front door. The suspects then ransacked the residence, taking an unknown amount of property, and fled the scene in a light colored SUV. The investigation is ongoing.
Around 10:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger side window of the vehicle causing an audible alarm to sound. The suspect was seen walking away from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
February 19
Just after 5:00 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of East Las Flores Avenue regarding a burglary report. An unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by smashing a rear window. The suspect(s) then ransacked the residence and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The property loss was unknown at the time due the resident being out of state. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Just before 9:00 p.m., an officer was patrolling the parking lot of Westfield Santa Anita, 400 South Baldwin Avenue. The officer contacted a driver of a vehicle parked in a handicap parking stall. The officer discovered the occupants of the vehicle were fraudulently displaying a handicap placard that did not belong to them. The driver was issued a citation and released at the scene.
February 20
Just after 11:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Par 3 Golf Course, 620 East Live Oak, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon and a carjacking. The victim was seated in his vehicle when he saw the suspect, a known acquaintance, standing behind his vehicle. The victim approached the suspect and the suspect punched and kicked him. The victim stated he saw the suspect holding a rifle. The suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle and abandoned it in El Monte. El Monte Police Officers located the suspect and a pellet rifle. The 30-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Beverly Drive regarding a fraud report. The victim received a 2017 W-2 tax statement from a company he had never worked for. He discovered that an unknown suspect stole his identity. The victim did not know how the suspect obtained his personal information. The investigation is ongoing.
February 21
Just after midnight, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Huntington Drive for speeding in excess of 90 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 54-year-old male from Temple City was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 1:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Arcadia Library, 20 West Duarte Road, regarding a violation of a court order. An investigation revealed the victim walked to the library from her home because her ex-husband refused to leave her home. The officer contacted the subject at the victim’s residence and discovered he was in violation of a restraining order. The 32-year-old male from Chino was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
February 22
At approximately 10:40 a.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Race Track, 285 West Huntington Drive, regarding a subject being detained by track security for illegal drugs. The subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a fraudulent social security card. The 25-year-old male from El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just after 12:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Lemon Avenue regarding a report of suspicious circumstances. A resident reported seeing two subjects wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black gloves and black shoes, jump over the fence of her neighbor’s rear yard. As officers arrived, the witness advised she saw the subjects walking around inside her neighbor’s house. Officers set up a perimeter and with the assistance of Pasadena Air Support, the two subjects were located after running from the residence. The 17-year-old male from Pasadena and the 17-year-old male from Monrovia were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
February 23
Just after 9:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 000 block of East Las Flores Avenue regarding a burglary report. The officer determined unidentified suspect(s) entered the location, which was under construction, by cutting the lock on the gate. The suspects then stole water pumps and a water filter before fleeing. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 7:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue for an unsafe turning movement. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 27-year-old female from El Monte was driving with an expired driver’s license. She was cited and released in the field. The vehicle was released to a valid driver.
February 24
Just before 1:00 a.m., an officer contacted a subject walking in the area of Duarte Road and Golden West Avenue. The officer saw the subject throw an object on the ground. An investigation revealed the subject was in possession of a meth pipe and cocaine. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The 32-year-old male from San Gabriel was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., an officer contacted a subject sleeping on the sidewalk in front of Arcadia County Park, 405 South Santa Anita Avenue. Upon contacting the 33-year-old male from San Diego, the officer noticed symptoms of alcohol intoxication and determined the suspect was unable to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
