The Sierra Madre Playhouse presents Nothing is the Same on February 24th at 2:30 p.m. (87 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. Sierra Madre, CA 91001) Nothing is the Same on December 7, 1941. Four Hawaiian youngsters (two of Korean extraction, one of Filipino ancestry, one of Japanese extraction) are playing marbles in a churchyard in Wahiawa, on Oahu’s North Shore. Japanese bombers buzz the town on their way to attack Pearl Harbor. War arrives, and Nothing Is the Same. The play, by Y York, is the result of an oral history project supported by TCG/Pew Charitable Trusts. General admission is $30 seniors are $27 and 20years of age and under are $20. The competition’s on fire at Santa Anita Park, with world-class thoroughbred racing at a true Los Angeles landmark, as well as the annual Santa Anita Chili Cook-Off, held indoors at the Club Court on February 24th at 12 p.m.(285 W. The Mixx of Pasadena presents Guitar Nights with John Pisano with special guest jazz guitarist’ John Stowell on February 27th from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (443 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91103) John Pisano is recognized as one of the nation’s finest guitarists. He has an extremely diverse background, having emerged on the jazz scene in the mid-50’s first recording in 1958 and 1959 with the legendary Billy Bean and a two-year stint with drummer Chico Hamilton (which at one time featured the innovative reedist Eric Dolphy). Even if his name doesn’t immediately ring a bell, odds are that you’ve heard his guitar work. Although John has occasionally stepped forward to lead his own group, for years his “comfort zone” was the background and John became an active member of the Los Angeles studio scene, adding his special touch to groups let by Buddy DeFranco, Red Norvo, Bud Shank and Benny Goodman.

Look at Krishna Fluting in Vrindavan and learn how Holi originated from the story of Krishna, his love for Radha and his attempt to color her skin so that it matched his own.
