Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare) has been awarded a $75,000 grant by the S. Mark Taper Foundation, a private family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of people’s lives by supporting nonprofit organizations and their work in our communities. The generous grant award will support the provision of over 490 high-quality medical visits to at-risk and uninsured patients in the San Gabriel Valley over a one-year period.

ChapCare offers primary medical care at 4 health centers in Pasadena, 1 health center in Monrovia, and 3 health centers in El Monte/South El Monte. Additional services are available at select ChapCare health center locations. These include: dental care, behavioral health counseling, specialty services (i.e. optometry and podiatry), on-site pharmacy, HIV specialty care, and health insurance screening and enrollment, among others. “Access to primary healthcare services is critical to treat acute and chronic illnesses and support the long-term health of the communities we serve through important preventive care,” said Margaret B. Martinez MPH, ChapCare’s CEO. “We are grateful to the S. Mark Taper Foundation for providing these much-needed general operating support funds, which will expand access to primary healthcare services for those who are in-need.”
