Monrovia Overcomes Slow Start to Beat South Pasadena

After losing six games in a row, the Monrovia Wildcats broke the streak and beat Temple City last Wednesday 58-54. Two days later, they were looking to build a winning streak when they took on the South Pasadena Tigers at home.
Early on, things didn’t look great for the Wildcats. South Pasadena jumped out of the gates early, leading 10-2 just over one minute into the game. The Tigers kept up their hot shooting throughout the 1st quarter, leading 26-12 at the end of one, and shooting 61% from the field.
The Wildcats settled down the rest of the way, however, and steadily got back in the game. By halftime, the Wildcats cut the deficit to just three points, trailing 38-35, and in the 2nd half, they kept their momentum going. By the end of the 4th quarter, Monrovia had completely flipped the script from the 1st, and dominated the majority of the game. The final score read Monrovia 77 South Pasadena 63.
