Foothill Unity Center Inc. provided more than 800 Thanksgiving food boxes to families in need from the San Gabriel Valley Foothills including Altadena, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Duarte, Irwindale, Monrovia, Pasadena, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena. This was a community driven event with more than 400 volunteers coming together to provide the boxes.
Many of the volunteers helping with distribution on Monday were from the Monrovia Police Dept., including the new chief Alan Sanvictores, who assisted families getting their Thanksgiving dinner supplies.
This community event provides registered clients of the center with food and all the trimmings and is made possible by the support of local businesses, civic clubs, faith based organizations, schools and individuals. Through food drives, donations and sponsorships. Many thanks to all the local schools, businesses, Faith Based groups, civic clubs that have hosted food drives, and sponsored food items including local legislators. Also special thanks to local Legislators, Cal American Water Co., Golden State Water Co., Minuteman Transportation, Pink Transportation, Los Angeles County Arboretum and Major Carts for being major sponsors of the Thanksgiving Distribution events.
