Community Health Alliance of Pasadena Awarded Grant by the Green Foundation
Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare) has been awarded $12,000 by the Green Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization, with a primary focus on the arts, education, and human services. The Green Foundation’s mission is to uncover new opportunities, encourage growth and ultimately effect positive change with those institutions that best reflect their core focus areas and the communities they serve. The generous grant award will support the purchase of a colposcope and a fetal monitor, which will enhance ChapCare’s high-quality, comprehensive Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) program in the Pasadena area.
ChapCare offers OB/GYN services at its Del Mar health center in east Pasadena. OB/GYN services include: pre-natal care for pregnant women, well-woman exams, and treatment of gynecological problems. The colposcope aids in detecting precancerous lesions of the cervix, and the fetal heart rate monitor helps in following high-risk pregnancies. “Access to high-quality OB/GYN care is critical to ensure the health of the mother and her child,” said Margaret B. Martinez MPH, ChapCare’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful to the Green Foundation for funding this much-needed equipment, which will enhance the services offered to our patients.”
ChapCare’s Del Mar health center can be found at 3160 E. Del Mar Boulevard, Suite 200, Pasadena, CA 91107. Hours of operation for OB/GYN services are Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. ChapCare provides low-or no-cost health services (Medi-Cal and Medicare) and accepts many Covered California and private insurance plans.
