Ice House Fundraiser for Hillsides Foster Care Charity Raises More Than $12,000
The Ice House Comedy Club 57th Anniversary Show held on October 1 benefiting Hillsides raised more than $12,000 for the Southern California foster care charity. The evening, which included a silent and live auction, raised funds for a support group of Hillsides, the Hillsides Volunteer Network, which provides activities and field trips for the children who live in Hillsides’ Residential Treatment Services program. The event also raised funds for Hillsides Education Center, a therapeutic non-public school, through a paddle auction.
Bob Zany from “The BOB & TOM Show” headlined the show. Other comedians, such as Jackie Fabulous from “StaannDUP” and NBC4 weatherman and Hillsides’ supporter Fritz Coleman, also lent their talents to the evening.
“Each year, The Ice House owner Bob Fisher puts on a special anniversary show and donates the proceeds to Hillsides. He has brought laughter to the community for 57 years, and we are grateful he is extending this joy to the children to help them heal from trauma,” said Hillsides President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph M. Costa.
The Ice House, located in Pasadena, was established in 1960 and over the years has featured many of the leading comedians of our time, such as Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin, and Jerry Seinfeld. The Ice House anniversary show is the Hillsides Volunteer Network’s major fundraiser of the year.
