Rochelle Chappelle, ABC News celebrity stylist and owner of the Healthy Hair Bar & Wig Salon continues to honor those affected by the devastation of cancer by initiating, WECARE, a Healthy Hair Bar campaign that seeks to educate about the dangers that lurk in our everyday hair care regimens through social platforms. The campaign will kick off this October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Paying it forward is nothing new to the Healthy Hair Bar & Wig Salon; for years Chappelle has been affiliated with different cancer organizations such as, Locs of Love, donating hair and wigs to the organization. Rochelle has also worked with the Cancer Society of America, as well as, Relay for Life at City of Hope in which she participates and raises money in search of a cure. It was not until her mother’s cancer diagnosis in 2008, due to being exposed to years of carcinogenic compounds found in many hair care products did Rochelle think to expand her love of hair through educating her clients on how to properly nourish their hair without the damaging effects of toxins.
In addition to her contributions to the cure for cancer, Rochelle provides free full-makeover services to Dress For Success in efforts to uplift her community and build confidence in those seeking a fresh start in their lives. Her passions for helping to provide glow to the community is truly inspiring.
Keeping on theme of her salon’s goals to educate women on the necessity of taking an organic approach to revitalize their hair, Chappelle has created her own product line, California Flow. If the walls of Healthy Hair Bar & Wig Salon could speak they’d tell you about the cancer patients whose tears flow after seeing results of hair growth as they never thought they would again. They’d relish in joy of receiving free chemocuts provided by the salon as well as discounted wig, wig fitting and servicing. They’d tell you about the ear to ear smiles that line the room. They’d also brag about how compassionate and dedicated Rochelle and the entire Healthy Hair Bar & Wig Salon stylists and staff are. Rochelle is always seeking new ventures to help provide for her community and the community thanks her.
