Los Angeles County’s Community Development Commission Introduces SMART Funding

The Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles (CDC) announced the streamlining of its small and medium business loan programs – all now known as SMART Funding. SMART Funding offers competitive loan programs created to support a variety of established businesses in Los Angeles County. Business owners and leaders want to make smart, sound financial decisions and, by working directly with SMART Funding, these businesses have the opportunity to access low-interest loans with customizable terms. SMART Funding will offer personalized business capital options, focusing on four specific areas of promising economic development:
- Manufacturing;
- Clean technology;
- Medical and health professionals; and
- Transportation-adjacent development.
With potential loans ranging from $25,000 to $1,500,000, SMART Funding aims to help local businesses purchase necessary equipment and machinery, acquire commercial property, build up working capital, and create and retain jobs. Applicants will work closely with dedicated loan officers to determine eligibility and construct a loan tailored to specific business needs. The CDC aims to help these local businesses build firm foundations, and save time and money – all in line with the agency’s goal of Building Better Lives and Better Neighborhoods for residents and business owners of Los Angeles County.
