LASD investigated a ‘suspicious object’ at the Memorial Park Gold Line Station Tuesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Dept. On Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 5:27 a.m., Pasadena Police Department received a call regarding a “suspicious package” on the Gold Line – Memorial Park Station platform, located at 125 East Holly Street, Pasadena.
All foot and train traffic was stopped on the platform and Memorial Park area by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Transit Services Bureau and Pasadena Police Department. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Arson/Explosives Detail (AED) was called; they responded quickly.
AED assessed and deemed the package safe by rapidly deploying the robot. The package described as a black five gallon bucket with a pole sticking out was determined to be trash. All transit and foot traffic on the platform and park area have resumed normal operations. Gold Line train station was reported but re-opened around 7:45 a.m. when it was deemed safe to re-enter the station and board the trains.
