Unity Center Needs Help With Back To School Distribution

The first day of school should be special. When I was little it meant new clothes, new shoes, a new binder and new pencils. Everything felt so special on that day.
For the children on the clients of Foothill Unity Center, it will be no different, thanks to the distribution the Center holds for those students. The center needs help providing these local students with a strong start to the school year.
Residents here in Monrovia can contribute by purchasing supplies and dropping them in “collection boxes” located thorough town. Some of the supplies needed are: Some of the
Supplies needed are:
- Binders
- Calculators, basic and scientific
- Composition books, college and wide ruled
- 24-pack of crayons
- Erasers, regular and pencil top
- Filler paper, college and wide ruled in packs of 150 sheets
- Folders, two pocket or 3-prong
- Glue, water soluble and glue sticks
- Highlighters and markers
- Pencils (standard or mechanical, pencil boxes, pencil sharpeners
- Pens, blue or black ink
- Post it notes
- Rulers
- Scissors (5” blunt and pointed)
- Spiral notebooks (college and wide rules

All of the collected supplies will be distributed to pre-registered students of qualified low-income families at the Foothill Unity Center’s annual Back to School Event in August 2017 at the Santa Anita Park Race Track.
