Eddie McKiernan Named New Baseball Coach at La Salle
La Salle High School announced today that Eddie McKiernan has accepted the school’s offer to become our next varsity baseball head coach. McKiernan is from the San Gabriel Valley and was a standout player at Monrovia High School. As a high school player he was named CIF Player of the Year and helped bring the Wildcats a CIF title in 2006. In 2007, the Los Angels of Anaheim selected McKiernan in the 17th round of the MLB draft. He played six seasons in the Angels organization as a starting and relief pitcher. “I am truly happy and excited to join La Salle’s coaching staff and I look forward to working with the great Lancer baseball players here at La Salle,” McKiernan said.
McKiernan began his coaching career at Monrovia High School in 2007 during his MLB off-season. McKiernan has coached full time with Play Hard Baseball since 2013. Many youth, high school, college and professional level players have worked with McKiernan in the Play Hard Baseball facility, and he has helped more than 40 student-athletes achieve their goal of playing baseball at the high school, college and professional level.
