Pasadena Police Blotters: June 10 – June 17

June 10

At about 12:30 p.m., Pasadena Police officers investigated a robbery in the 2800 block of East Colorado Boulevard. On arrival, officers learned that the business manager had been in a physical altercation with a guest. The guest (suspect) refused to leave the business and started to fight with the manager. The suspect then stole property from the manager. Our investigation is ongoing.

June 11

 At about 2:48 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the Colorado Street Bridge regarding a person standing on the edge beyond the safety railing. Officers made contact and began talking with the male adult subject. After a brief period of time, the subject climbed back over the safety railing. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for a mental health assessment.

At about 4:06 p.m., Pasadena Police officers investigated a residential burglary in the 100 block of North San Marino Avenue. The victim told police officers that the suspect(s) removed a Glock pistol and jewelry from her residence. Officers documented the incident on a police report.

June 12

At about 5:25 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 600 block of Earlham Street regarding alleged narcotics activity. On arrival, officers contacted the suspects and determined that one of them was on probation. During the subsequent field investigation, PPD officers recovered a loaded Glock pistol. As it turns out, the pistol was the same one stolen from the residential burglary the night before. Three suspects were arrested for various penal code violations and processed at the Pasadena jail.

June 13

 At about 10:05 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the area of Lincoln Avenue and Orange Gove Boulevard regarding shots fired. On arrival, officers found some evidence suggesting a firearm was discharged; however, they did not locate any witnesses or suspects. Our investigation is ongoing.

June 14

 At about 1:34 p.m., Pasadena Police officers investigated a robbery at a fast food business in the 2100 block of East Foothill Boulevard. The suspect walked up to the counter, displayed a firearm, and demanded money from the store clerk. He fled after receiving the money. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 30s, medium build, black baseball cap, white bandana, and wearing a dark gray long sleeve shirt. June 16

 At about 1:43 a.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 100 block of East Colorado Boulevard regarding a stabbing. On arrival, officers saw three males running from the area and detained them without incident. It was later discovered that the males were involved in the stabbing and made statements to the officers about the incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for stab wounds. The suspects were arrested and booked for attempted murder. The weapon was recovered.

June 17

 At about 12:07 a.m., a concerned community member contacted Pasadena Police officers on patrol near Green Street and Marengo Avenue. The community member said he was concerned about a possible intoxicated driver attempting to leave the parking structure. As PPD officers approached the vehicle, the driver drove away at a high rate of speed, east on Green Street. Officers attempted to follow the vehicle, however, the drive crashed into a large planter near Marengo Avenue and Green Street, severing a gas line. PFD responded and assisted the gas company to shut of the gas.

 At about 2:16 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to a theft (shoplifting) in progress in the 700 block of East Colorado Blvd. Store security agents detained the suspects (two female adults & two male adults) and learned they left an infant and small child in the car while committing the crime. PPD officers and store security located the car and notice the windows were rolled up. The ambient air temperature was approximately 90 degrees when the infant and child were removed from the car. The suspects were arrested for child endangerment and shoplifting.
