Arcadia Softball slid passed Highland in extra innings Tuesday, May 16, in the wild card game of the Southern Section division IV playoff bracket.
The Lady Apaches found themselves in a pitching duel against Highland. No runs scored the first five innings. Arcadia finally broke through in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs. Junior Susan Harrison led the offense collecting two hits and RBI. However, Highland would answer with two of their own in the top of seventh. Arcadia had a chance to close it out in the bottom of the seventh but were unable to score, sending the game into extra innings. The game would last until the tenth inning. The Lady Apaches were able to win the game in walk-off fashion.
The Lady Apaches pitching was stellar. Senior Jannelle Ha Pitched the complete game allowing five hits and two runs while striking out seven over 10 innings of work.
Arcadia High School softball plays Montclair High School Thursday, May 18, to continue the division IV Playoffs.
