This Memorial Day, The Arcadia Rotary Club and its members invite the community to share this special holiday, as the Field of Honor is assembled in the City of Arcadia.

Bob Harbicht and Arcadia Rotary spearheaded a unique project at Arcadia County Park which was installed for the first time May 20, 2016.

The inaugural event displayed 1,000 flags, which marked a corner of the park in an impressive show of patriotism … just in time for Memorial Day ceremonies which will take place Saturday, May 29.

Flags can be purchased for $50 each and will have a tag with a custom message (up to 25 words) of your choosing. Flags will be displayed at County Park on Santa Anita Ave. and Huntington Dr. in Arcadia from May 20-May 29.

Opening Ceremonies will be held on May 21 at 1:00 pm at Arcadia County Park. Please join us.

Arcadia Field of Honor is being organized by Arcadia Rotary. Arcadia Rotary is made up of neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world. Our differing occupations, cultures, and backgrounds give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable.

The annual Memorial Day in Arcadia County Park will be exceptional this year with the first anniversary of the Vietnam Memorial; the massive Rotary Field of Honor; in addition to the regular scheduled condor flyover, a series of parachutists, and a scheduled flyover of a Vietnam era helicopter.

Arcadia Field of Honor is a community-wide event designed to celebrate patriotism and honor those who have served our country and/or are special in our lives. Volunteer help is needed to run the Field of Honor. Help is needed daily from May 21 through May 30. There are a wide variety of opportunities available, Teri Muse is handling volunteer sign up.
