Monrovia Officials Sworn in at the beginning of the Monrovia Council Meeting on Tuesday evening after City Clerk Alice Atkins announced the results of the City election last month. Following the Council’s acceptance of the clerk’s certification of the results, they approved a resolution declaring the winners. As was noted in this publication shortly after the election, Tom Adams was re-elected Mayor with Alex Blackburn and Larry Spicer re-elected to City Council. City Clerk Alice Atkins and City Treasurer Steve Baker, who both ran unopposed, were re-elected to their respective offices.

The clerk then administered the oath of office for the Monrovia officials. Since she cannot administer the oath to herself, City Attorney, Craig Steel administered the oath to her.

Later in the meeting, Gloria Crudgington was elected Mayor Pro Tem for the next year. As is the habit of the council, the group reviewed the liaison assignments for the upcoming year at a study session earlier in the day. At the meeting Mayor Tom Adams announced those assignments.
