Pacific Clinics recently announced that ABC7 News’ Anchor Ellen Leyva will emcee its annual Fiesta Brunch fundraising event. Celebrating 90 years of service, Pacific Clinics has been a leading nonprofit agency providing comprehensive behavioral health and support services throughout Southern California.
The Fiesta Brunch, Pacific Clinics’ signature fundraising event, assists children, adults and families living with severe mental illness. This year’s Fiesta Brunch will be held on Sunday, May 21at the Brookside Golf Club at the Rose Bowl starting at 11 a.m. Support raised through this event assists Pacific Clinics in providing mental health services, substance abuse treatment, vocational and employment assistance, supportive housing services, and Head Start and Early Head Start programs, to over 24,000 individuals each year.
Ellen grew up in Tucson, Arizona in a bilingual household. She spent much of her time in Mexico with her mother’s family, and says being bilingual has helped her tremendously on the job in Los Angeles’ large Hispanic community. Ellen graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in broadcast journalism and is proud to have been inducted into the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism’s Hall of Fame in 2006. Most notably, she received an Impact Award for Excellence in Television from the National Hispanic Media Coalition.
Pacific Clinics is honored to have Ms. Leyva returning as an emcee this year, and to have her as a goodwill ambassador, advocating for mental health services for underserved communities.
