Turnout at 13 .4 percent; incumbents return.

This past week, the City Clerk’s Office coordinated to complete the process of counting the remaining provisional and vote by mail ballots remaining from the April 11, General Municipal Election in Monrovia.

The recent election so far saw 2,850 ballots cast (mail-in ballots outnumbered in-pricinct voting by more than double) and a dismal turnout of 13.4 percent of registered voters. The updated semi-official results from the election are as follows:

  • For Mayor
    Tom Adams – 2,301 votes
    Mark Harris – 434 votes
  • For City Council
    Larry Spicer – 2,052 votes
    Alexander Blackburn – 1,757 votes
    Clifford DeCosta – 866 votes
  • For City Clerk
    Alice Atkins – 2,578 votes
  • For City Treasurer
    Steve Baker – 2,561 votes

These results are unofficial and updating until the City Council formally certifies the election results, which is scheduled to take place on May 2, at 7:30 p.m.
