South Pasadena Police Search for Missing Child

Father Released from custody

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into missing 5 year-old Andressian Aramazd Jr.

Investigators have learned that the suspect spent Friday, April 21, 2017, visiting Lake Cachuma Recreation Area in Santa Barbara County.

On Tuesday, April 25, Investigators continued to search in the area near and around the lake with the assistance of the San Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and Santa Barbara County Park Rangers. They are utilizing scent K-9’s and a dive team in hopes of locating any witnesses or evidence leading to the whereabouts of the missing child.

The father, 35-year-old Aramazd Andressian, was arrested after investigation on suspicion of child abduction and child endangerment, according to South Pasadena Police Dept.

He was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and child abduction, and investigators have since searched his South Pasadena home. His bail was set at $10 million.

The child was seen on video at Disneyland with his father, 35-year-old Aramazd Andressian Sr., on the night of Thursday, April 20.

Aramazd Andressian Jr., age five, is 41 inches tall, 55 pounds and was last seen wearing a turquoise shirt and plaid shorts. He has a small mole on the bottom of his right shoulder. Regarding the arrest of suspect Aramazd Andressian Sr., South Pasadena Police Department and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department have made the decision not to present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration at this time.  Suspect Andressian has been released from custody.

The matter remains under investigation.  No additional information is available at this time.
