There will be bands and floats of all shapes and sizes. The Historic Monrovia Holiday Parade steps off at 7 p.m. tonight. Make sure to listen for the Pasadena Drum Squad, one of the most exciting drum groups around.

As you may recall, each year leading up to the event, the City selects a parade theme and a Grand Marshal for the event. This year, Monrovia will celebrate our past by having a Historic Holiday themed parade. In addition, we are pleased to be able to share that we have selected the Monrovia Historic Preservation Group as the 2016 Parade Grand Marshal.

This theme was selected to celebrate all of the great work MOHPG has done during the past one plus year to lead the neighborhood compatibility / historic preservation charge. MOHPG was a big part of starting the historic preservation and neighborhood compatibility conversation in Monrovia, and the group certainly contributed to finding a smart solution. The Monrovia Historic Preservation Group mission is to be entrusted with Monrovia’s heritage through preservation, education, and community involvement, and the work that they have done is truly a cause worthy of celebration!
