The Arcadia Police Department is committed to reducing property crimes by taking a proactive approach to catch criminals as they commit crimes. The police department has procured a number of GPS tracking devices in an effort to apprehend thieves. Detectives have partnered with citizens and local businesses by placing bait packages and bicycles equipped with tracking devices, which notify police personnel when packages/bicycles have been stolen.

On Nov. 28 at approximately 1:20 p.m., Arcadia Police responded to the central portion of Arcadia regarding an alert of a stolen bicycle equipped with a GPS tracking device from a business. Officers tracked the bicycle and located a suspect riding it a few blocks away from where the bicycle was stolen.

Suspect Castillo, Edward, 46-years old of Pasadena, was arrested for Penal Code 484(a) Petty Theft. Castillo also had several outstanding arrests warrants. He is currently being held in custody at the Arcadia City Jail on $91,630 bail.
