The Talamo’s had a busy weekend, to say the least.

Joe, a 26 year old Jockey from Louisiana, was preparing Saturday morning for the infamous Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita Race Track. His wife Elizabeth, however, days past her due date, attended the Breeders’ cup in hopes to see her husband Joe, riding Melatonin, pull off an upset victory over the favorite California Chrome.

Joe finished 5th in the race but one could imagine how little that resonated with him due to the fact that the very next day Elizabeth took to twitter announcing to the world, “Introducing Vincent James Talamo! Born at 9:56 A.M. weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces. We are so in love!”

Vincent was chosen because the couple wanted a traditional Italian name, so they landed on Vincent; James, on the other hand, came from Elizabeth’s grandfather.

Joe Talamo Re-tweeted the picture of his new born with the caption: “My little man!”

When I asked Joe through a friendly text message about how it felt to be a father, he simply replied, “Unbelievable. It still hasn’t really sunk in yet.”

Congratulations to the Talamo’s and their brand new baby boy!
