The Woman’s Club of Arcadia will host the second annual “Making a Difference for Battered Women and Children” Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the historic Woman’s Club clubhouse on First Avenue in Arcadia. The Rotary Club of Arcadia is a major sponsor of the event.

Guests at this casual afternoon event will enjoy abundant wine tasting, delicious hors de oeuvres, music, art exhibit and silent auction. The wide selection of Silent Auction items includes such items as theme baskets, gift cards, entrance to area attractions and unique crystals and ceramics. Noted photographer Mark Kennedy and artist Kenneth Johnson will have their works on display for enjoyment.

The plentiful array of food features delicacies provided by supporters such as Matt Denny’s, Claro’s, Togo’s, Embassy Suites, Vista Cove and Spring Bamboo.

According to Woman’s Club president Cheryl Alberg, October is Domestic Violence month and the Arcadia club has supported many projects that aid those touched by this issue. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Asian Pacific Women’s Center and the Good Shepherd Shelter for Battered Women and Children.

Ticket cost, which is tax deductible, is $50 pre-sale and $60 at the door of the Clubhouse (324 S. First Ave., Arcadia). For further information and pre-sale tickets, contact event chairwoman Francine Chiu at (626) 523-8032.
