At 10:22 a.m., Truck 105 responded to a police investigation in the 100 block of West Live Oak Avenue. Upon arrival, Arcadia Police Department investigators requested the use of the aerial ladder to access the roof of a commercial building which had been burglarized. Fire personnel remained on scene to assist police investigators with apparatus safety.
Sept. 5
At 2:33 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of Fairview Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a 41-year-old female with a complaint of general weakness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Sept. 6
At 6:33 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 200 block of Colorado Place. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated an assault victim with leg and back injuries sustained after jumping out of a moving vehicle. Paramedics provided the 28-year-old female with advanced life support measures on scene including full spinal immobilization, intravenous access, leg splinting, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Arcadia Police remained on scene for investigation.
Sept. 7
At 7:05 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1800 block of North Stonehouse Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 59-year-old female experiencing an altered level of consciousness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Sept. 8
At 3:08 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded an auto versus pedestrian traffic collision in the 600 block of Duarte Road. Upon arrival, Arcadia Police were on scene with a 10-year-old child who suffered a head injury after being hit by an automobile. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures including full spinal immobilization, intravenous access, and wound care. The patient was transported to the pediatric trauma unit at Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
Sept. 9
At 7:05 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist at 300 West Huntington Drive, Methodist Hospital of Southern California. Emergency room personnel requested paramedic transport of a 5-year-old juvenile to a pediatric trauma center. The child had sustained a head injury after falling down a flight of stairs. Paramedics took over care of the patient and transported him to the pediatric trauma unit at Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
Sept. 10
At 11:32 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 33-year-old male who had experienced a syncopal episode. Paramedics provided advanced life support on scene including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
