On Sept. 24, the Arcadia Educational Foundation (AEF) will be hosting its second annual Bright Night Gala at Prince Erik Hall, Arcadia Congregational Church.
After seeing astounding success at last year’s event, making over $40,000 and attracting 250 guests from the Arcadia community, AEF seeks to match or even increase those numbers.
The gala will help reduce the gap in funding between the Arcadia Unified (AUSD) budget and government funding. This annual fundraiser will raise money and fund the schools of AUSD, providing them with textbooks, teacher grants, counselors, crisis communication systems, and laptops.
The event will feature several exciting performances from Arcadia High School’s Pep Squad, the Arcadia High School Music Club, Arcadia High School’s Drum Line, and Arcadia High School’s Chanteurs.
Not only will the gala bring together the community for a greater purpose, it will also give students a chance to showcase their talents and performances, on which they have spent countless hours rehearsing.
The dinner will begin with a cocktail reception and features an extravagant Al Fresco buffet dinner, including a wine bar and hosted beer.
After dinner, the gala will feature speeches from Arcadia City Council Members, elected officials, and AUSD’s Superintendent Dr. David Vannasdall. Then, guests will be given a chance to bid for great prizes in a live and silent auction. These prizes include an Arcadia Police Department Ride-A-Long, six VIP front row tickets to Arcadia High School Graduation at Santa Anita, front row seats at all elementary school holiday shows, dinner for five at the Arcadia Fire Department, an NFL Rams jersey autographed by Kurt Warner, a timeshare vacation in Yosemite, and more.
The gala is sponsored by many local organizations and businesses such as State Farm, Rose Hills, the Arcadia Chinese Association, Cathay Bank, Trader Joe’s, Foothill Credit Union, and several others.
Each ticket costs $90, (50 percent off for AUSD staff) and the event is open to adults ages 21 or older. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ArcadiaEdFoundation.org.
