LA Country District Teachers of the Year Select One of Monrovia’s Finest, Jennifer Tubbs
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) announced on Friday the 16 County Teachers of the Year, who represent the best among the 75,000 K-12 educators of our county.
The top 16 were presented by LACOE Superintendent Debra Duardo on Sept. 16 at the Hilton Universal City as outstanding educators who have served with praiseworthy distinction.
Judged as the county’s top public school teachers for this academic year, they will serve as standard-bearers for the teaching profession countywide.
In addition to the 16 selected, 57 were selected as LA County District Teachers of the year. The top 16 are comprised of 14 women and two men. They represent the profession’s elite from a total pool of about 75,000 teachers countywide.
One of those selected was one Monrovia’s own – Jennifer Tubbs, fifth grade teacher at Wildrose School.
One colleague of Tubbs offered this “… [she] has an amazing ability to understand each student’s needs along with an incredible sense of humor.”
