Twenty youth from the Pasadena Boys & Girls Club will be partnered with Pasadena Police Officers for “Shop with a Cop” at Target (777 E. Colorado Blvd.) on Friday, Aug. 26 at 4 p.m.
Gift cards for kids in the amount of $100 will be purchased and given to 20 young people. The kids, most from economically-challenged environments, will be accompanied with a uniformed Pasadena Police Officers as they spend time shopping for back-to-school clothes and supplies.
This program helps kids be confident and prepared as they return to school. It also forms long-lasting relationships between the community and police.
The real heroes to this story are the members of the Pasadena Rotary Club, who partnered with Target and committed $2,000 dollars for this program. Target Corporation has been a longtime supporter of the “Shop with a Cop” initiative and other non-profit youth programs in Pasadena and nationwide. This is the Pasadena Police Department’s second year being funded by the Rotary Club for the “Shop with a Cop” program.
