Police Blotters: Aug. 14 to 20

Aug. 14

At about 7:54 p.m., officers responded to the area of Golden West Avenue and Hugo Reid Drive regarding the report of a disoriented subject. Upon contacting the subject, the officer noticed she displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant. It was determined that she had smoked methamphetamine. The 31-year-old female from San Diego was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 10:41 p.m., an officer initiated a consensual contact with a male subject on the 1100 block of 10th Avenue. An investigation revealed the subject had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was also in possession of stolen documents containing another person’s personal information. The 38-year-old male from Duarte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 15

At about 1:30 p.m., officers responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 300 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a subject who refused to leave. The subject was determined to be a danger to herself and was transported to Aurora Charter Oak Hospital. Upon arrival, the subject kicked the officer and attempted to bite him. The officer was not injured and the female was left in the care of Aurora Charter Oak Hospital staff.

At approximately 7:47 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Fairview Avenue for having expired registration. An investigation revealed the driver was driving with a suspended license and both the driver and passenger had outstanding warrants for their arrests. They were also in possession of over $3,000 worth of stolen merchandise. The 55-year-old female from San Jose and the 55-year-old male from San Francisco were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 16

At about 4:36 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hugo Reid Avenue and Cabrillo Avenue regarding a subject attempting to open doors of parked vehicles. The officer contacted the subject sitting inside a parked vehicle that did not belong to him. The subject was also in possession of stolen property. The 21-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 7:13 p.m., an officer contacted a male subject lying on the grass on the west side of the Arcadia Public Library, 20 W. Duarte Road. An investigation revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. A consensual search of the subject’s backpack revealed drug paraphernalia and stolen mail. The 29-year-old male from Ontario was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 17

Shortly after 7:13 a.m., an officer responded to a residence on the 900 block of Panorama Drive regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered his sunglasses had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle sometime during the previous night. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Just after 9:01 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Arcadia Avenue for having expired registration. An investigation revealed the driver had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. The 26-year-old male from Azusa was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 18

At about 7:20 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Naomi Avenue for missing license plates. An investigation revealed the driver had two outstanding warrants for his arrest and he was in possession of marijuana and stolen debit cards. The 19-year-old male from Fontana was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Shortly after 8:04 p.m., an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a bicyclist in the area of Live Oak Avenue and Sixth Avenue for riding on the sidewalk and equipment violations. The bicyclist dropped his bicycle and fled northbound on Sixth Avenue on foot. Officers detained the subject and an investigation revealed the subject was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The 39-year-old from Ontario was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 19

At about 2:38 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 1000 block of West Huntington Drive for failing to stop at a red light. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 25-year-old male from Arcadia was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just before 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the 1500 block of Mayflower Avenue regarding the report of a subject seen entering the rear of a vacant residence. The suspect was located and an investigation revealed he had removed a key box and door knob from the residence. Window screens were found torn with pry marks. The suspect was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The 30-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Aug. 20

At about 12:54 p.m., an officer responded to Victoria’s Secret, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft report. A loss prevention specialist witnessed the suspect conceal numerous items in her tote bag before exiting the store, failing to make payment. Further investigation revealed the suspect had also stolen merchandise from Aeropostale. The 24-year-old female from Compton was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 2:53 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of Westfield Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding the report of vandalism to a vehicle. An investigation revealed the victim returned to his vehicle to find that an unknown suspect scratched his vehicle by unknown means along the passenger side. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
