May 8

At approximately 5:35 p.m., an officer responded to Sephora, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a petty theft report. A loss prevention specialist witnessed a female suspect conceal an item in her purse before exiting the store, failing to make payment. She then gave the item to a male suspect who attempted to return the stolen item for store credit. Further investigation revealed both suspects had numerous outstanding warrants. The 29-year-old female from Inglewood and the 27-year-old male from Los Angeles were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 7:23 p.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a vandalism report. An investigation revealed, the victim returned to his car to find that it had been keyed with damage to the side doors, fenders and hood. The victim believes the suspect was another driver who was upset over the parking space. The investigation is ongoing.

 

May 9

At approximately 6:01 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Highland Oaks Drive and Elkins Place regarding a suspicious person attempting to enter a locked gate. The subject was contacted and a consensual search of his backpack revealed a black BB gun, large knife, and marijuana. The 22-year-old male from Los Angeles was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At about 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a subject seen jumping into the rear yard of a residence. The subject was located and found to be in possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 54-year-old male from Lancaster was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

 

May 10

At about 5:32 a.m., officers were dispatched to a hit and run traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Huntington Drive and Morlan Place. The officer discovered Party-1 collided with Party-2, an elderly pedestrian, as she was walking in a marked crosswalk. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Around 12:09 p.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of Bowling Square, 1020 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding an auto burglary. An investigation revealed the victim had left his vehicle parked in the lot overnight. He returned to find his rear window had been smashed and his set of golf clubs had been stolen. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

 

May 11

At approximately 3:35 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on the 1300 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Further investigation revealed the driver also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The 26-year-old female from Duarte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 10:52 a.m., an officer responded to Hollister, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed, two suspects entered the store and concealed several items of clothing in a booster bag and fled the location. Suspect 1 is described as female, approximately 35 to 40-years-old, 5-feet-5-inches-tall with a medium build. Suspect 2 is described as male, approximately 35 to 40-years-old, 6-feet-2-inches-tall and heavy-set. The investigation is ongoing.

 

May 12

Around 12:54 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Live oak Avenue regarding a residential burglary in progress. An investigation revealed the suspect used to live at the location. A consensual search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed stolen property and a meth pipe. The 53-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 2:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of First Avenue and Foothill Boulevard regarding the report of a hit and run traffic collision. An investigation revealed, the suspect driver was responsible for two separate hit and run collisions and was located in his vehicle at the scene of a third collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 62-year-old male from Arcadia was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

 

May 13

At approximately 3:18 a.m., an officer responded to the 1900 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding an unconscious male found lying on the porch of a residence. Upon contacting the 27-year-old male from Alhambra, the officer noticed symptoms of alcohol intoxication and determined the suspect was unable to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At about 11:51 a.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a theft from a vehicle. An investigation revealed, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet containing $150 cash, a driver’s license, and credit card. The vehicle registration and insurance card were also stolen. No suspected were seen and no witnesses were located.

 

May 14

At about 5:53 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of Rafael Drive regarding a residential burglary report. The officer determined unidentified suspect(s) entered the residence by smashing a bedroom window, ransacked the residence and stole jewelry before fleeing. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located. The investigation is ongoing.

Just after 7:03 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop near the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Live Oak Avenue for failing to stop at a stop sign. A consensual search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and a large amount of methamphetamine. The driver also had multiple warrants for his arrest. The 24-year-old male from El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
