San Marino came into Monrovia’s house and ended their undefeated season thanks to a solo-homerun by Bryson Smith (4) in the fifth inning.

Smith took Monrovia’s relief pitcher, Gustavo (Gus) Garcia (32), deep over the center field fence.

That home run proved to be enough as Tommy Hannan (3) came in for Titan’s starting pitcher Carson Glazer (7) and was able to earn the save, throwing three innings with 0 hits, 0 walks, 0 runs, and 1 strikeout.

Glazer earned the win by pitching four out of the seven innings: 3 hits, 1 run, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

Monrovia and San Marino will play again Thursday, May 12, at San Marino High School at 3:30 p.m., as the top two teams in the Rio Hondo League face off for the second time.
