Arcadia Senior Services in partnership with Methodist Hospital is having a free health presentation on Tuesday, May 24, at 1:30 p.m. It will take place at the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Drive. Radiologist Jose Tandoc, MD, is the guest speaker and will be discussing lung cancer and the new CT screening risk and benefits.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women worldwide. Based on the findings of the National Lung Screening Trial, we know that CT lung screening can save lives of people at high risk for developing lung cancer. It finds the cancer at an early stage when it is easier to treat. Low-dose CT lung screening (LDCT) is quick and easy and results in a minimum amount of radiation exposure.

Dr. Tandoc will speak about this life-saving new screening option and discuss who should consider having this exam, as well as its potential risks and benefits. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling Arcadia Senior Services (626) 574-5130. This program is for individuals age 50 and over.
