Cookies are needed for hospitalized, homeless and special needs veterans as part of the annual “Operation Cookie” project to be held on Wednesday, May 25, at the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena. Volunteers are also needed to help receive and sort cookies, and work on the “assembly line,” where cookies are individually packed into decorative containers labeled with a special thank you to the veterans for their military service.

This year cookies will be delivered to Veteran’s hospitals throughout the Southland for patients in spinal cord injury facilities, general post-surgery facilities, convalescent and hospice care, and the PTSD-psychological care units. Cookies are also delivered to the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Pendleton and to homeless veterans served by the Veteran’s Association at the Cabrillo-Long Beach and downtown Los Angeles centers. Last year, cookies were provided to almost 2,000 hospitalized and homeless veterans in time for Memorial Day.

Alternate deliveries may be made the evening before, on Tuesday May 24 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Club’s popular curbside “cookie drop off” service will be provided both days.
