Arcadia Fire Department Weekly Report, April 3 to 9

April 3

At 10:28 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1000 block of Loganrita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 46-year-old male suffering from a cardiac dysrhythmia. The patient received advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

April 4

At 5:08 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to the 400 block of East Huntington Drive on a medical assist. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 47-year-old male feeling weak and dizzy. The patient received advanced life support measures on scene including cardiac monitoring, glucose level monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further treatment and evaluation.

April 5

At 2:16 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Fire personnel arrived to find a 76-year-old female suffering from a laceration to her forehead after a trip and fall. The patient received advanced life support measures on scene including spinal immobilization and heart monitoring. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

April 6

At 1:35 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a 79-year-old male complaining of shortness of breath. The patient received advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, drug therapy, 12-lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

April 7

At 7:35 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a traffic accident in the 2400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a vehicle that had collided into a parked car. The 64-year-old driver complained of pain to her wrist but refused treatment and transportation to a local hospital. The scene was released to the Arcadia Police Department.

April 8

At 3:44 p.m., Engine 106 responded to the 600 block of Vaquero Road regarding downed electrical wires. Fire crews arrived on scene and found high voltage lines down in the street, in front of a residence. Fire personnel secured the scene pending arrival of Southern California Edison Company employees.

April 9

At 5:50 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Fire crews arrived to find an 82-year-old male complaining of knee pain after a trip and fall. Paramedics provided basic life support measures on scene including ice compression and position of comfort. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
