Kiwanis Honors Cloverly Elementary School Students Rachel Mao and Cory Nguyen April 5, 2016
The Kiwanis Club of Temple City recognized two outstanding students from Cloverly Elementary School. Accompanying the students was Cloverly teacher Ms. Lynn Tenney.
Rachel is 11-years-old and in Mr. Alan Wong’s class. She has a younger sister and enjoys reading, history, math, art, and music. Rachel said, “The best things about Cloverly Elementary is learning from wonderful teachers, and being able to play with my best friends.” The best thing ever is having parents that care about her, and provide the things she needs. If she could change one thing, it would be to have everyone be nice and loyal to each other. Personal goals are to have a dragon, be an artist, and become a great violinist.
Cory is 12 years old and has a younger brother. He enjoys magic and soccer. Cory said, “The best things about Cloverly Elementary are learning new things, my friends, and art.” The best thing that ever happened was being born and introduced to this wonderful world. If he could change one thing, it would be to stop war with ISIS. Personal goals are to build a huge house for his parents to live in, become a better soccer player, get better at magic, and math.
Each week the Temple City Kiwanis Club is pleased to recognize outstanding students and their teachers from Cloverly, Emperor, Longden, Oak Avenue, and the Dr. Doug Sears Learning Center. Kiwanis treats students and their teacher to lunch. Students receive a certificate, a letter for their parents, a bumper sticker, a gift certificate from The Hat Restaurant, and a photograph of them receiving their award. Their photo will also be published in the Mid Valley News, Temple City Life, Temple City Tribune and posted on the Temple City Unified School District website.
