Los Angeles Sheriff Responds to Terror Attacks in Brussels

While there are no specific or credible threats that have been received by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), LASD personnel maintain a heightened state of situational awareness and remain vigilant in the protection of our communities.
They continue to work with law enforcement at the local, state, federal, and international levels to monitor events in Belgium. Our level of vigilance is increased at public transportation hubs in particular. Special Operations Division resources are on standby and are prepared to respond anywhere in the region should the need arise. There is no credible information that attacks are likely here, but as always, LASD asks the public if they “See Something, Say Something.”
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has thousands of uniformed deputy sheriffs on-duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week, patrolling and protecting the many diverse and varying communities we serve throughout Los Angeles County.
Sheriff Jim McDonnell is reaching out to the Belgian Consul General to express his thoughts and condolences, and offer our assistance.
