LCPC to Offer Multiple Easter Services
La Cañada Presbyterian Church (LCPC) will celebrate Easter with four services on Sunday morning, March 27.
A sunrise service will be held in Hahamongna Watershed Park at 6:30 a.m. A worship service will be held in the church Sanctuary at 7:55 a.m., followed by a service in the Sanctuary at 9:25 a.m. (with family-friendly seating in the Fellowship Hall), and then simultaneous services in the Sanctuary (traditional) and the Worship Arts Center (contemporary) at 11 a.m.
For the sunrise service, enter the park at Foothill Boulevard and Oak Grove Drive. Parking is available in Hahamongna’s main parking area. Signs will point the way to the worship area.
For the services at the church, the sermon topic of the Reverend Gareth Icenogle, interim pastor, will be “Living in Glory,” from Exodus 40.
LCPC’s Holy Week theme is “A Journey With Jesus,” and will include several events, including:
– A Passover experience Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This Maundy Thursday event will invite attendees to recall Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples. It will include teaching, drama, and a Seder meal. It is intended for adults, youth, and children. Child care is available for infants and toddlers.
– Reflective Worship on Good Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in the Worship Arts Center. This service will give attendees an opportunity to reflect on Jesus’ trial, condemnation and crucifixion.
– Jesus in the Tomb on Holy Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m. in the Cook Prayer Chapel. This will be a service of prayer and meditation, with scripture reading and a dramatic re-creation of Peter’s perspective.
