Grand Theft Arrest in Duarte

Last Wednesday, March 16, at about 5:45 p.m., Arcadia Police officers responded to a package theft from the 300 block of East Colorado Boulevard. The package had a tracking device inside of it. Due to normal rush-hour traffic, officers were not able to catch up to the suspect’s vehicle until he was in the area of Huntington Drive and Buena Vista Street in Duarte. The suspect stopped for the officers, and the stolen package was recovered. Officers also found another package stolen from the same area, and they determined the suspect’s vehicle was stolen.

The suspect was identified as Edwin Figueroa, a 26-year-old resident of Canyon Country. Figueroa was charged with violations of PC 487(a) – grand theft, CVC 10851(a) – vehicle theft, PC 484(a) – petty theft, PC 466 – burglary tools, and H&S 11364(a) – possession of drug paraphernalia. Figueroa was booked, and he is in custody at the Arcadia Police Department. Figueroa’s bail is $25,000, and his County Booking Number is 4597532.
