The Bear Essentials’ Triumphant Return
Arcadia Chamber Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Is a Warm Welcome Back to Community
The loveliness of the unseasonably warm weather perfectly matched the ever-present beauty in decor and ambiance the new Bear Essentials showcased during a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 9.
After hearing the outcry of their patrons when they closed their doors to their former location on Huntington Drive in 2014, Bear Essentials is reestablishing itself among the community at 122 E. Foothill Blvd. in Arcadia between First and Second Avenues.
It was a sight to behold with many in attendance browsing over their vast selection of truly unique gift items, which included merchandise such as a beautiful central display of necklaces, therapeutic coloring books, and many tables focused on the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
Owners Dennis and Susan Pink were welcomed by Arcadia Chamber board members and many Arcadia Chamber Ambassadors. Dennis was presented with a certificate of recognition by Chamber President-Elect Vicki Knight of Century Rooter Service & Plumbing, followed by Ambassador chairman Richard Jones of the San Marino Tribune, who presented the couple who live in Arcadia with a plaque commemorating their re-entrance as a Chamber member. After Arcadia Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick welcomed everyone and led introductions, Dennis discussed the finer points of their long-running business, including daily afternoon 20 percent discounts! It was quite impressive to discover they had been hosting off-site gift shows for more than 30 years, originally at the Arcadia Masonic Lodge and now regularly at Arcadia Chamber member Embassy Suites by Hilton Arcadia, with more than 200 vendors in attendance at some of their events.
Although they are now running their storefront again they have no plans to let this hamper the frequency of their trade shows – at least one show is planned almost every upcoming month at Embassy Suites.
As true professionals in hosting gift shows, the couple naturally knew how to make all those in attendance of their events feel perfectly welcome and they displayed that in full, with attendees invited to mingle and enjoy the many drinks and baked desserts provided by Dennis and Susan.
