On Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., First Presbyterian Church Monrovia will present a screening of the epic American 1925 silent movie “Ben Hur: A Tale of the Christ” starring Ramon Novarro, with a live pipe organ score by Randy Woltz. Woltz is a multi-talented musician from Orange County – organist, composer, and a member of the American Guild of Organists. The silent movie classic should be entertaining and inspiring for the whole family!

Judah Ben-Hur is a Judean Prince and boyhood friend of the powerful and corrupt Roman Tribune, Messala. Separated from his family and made a slave, Ben-Hur unknowingly encounters Jesus, eventually bests Messala in a climactic chariot race, and is reunited with his mother and sister who are suffering from leprosy. Billed in 1925 as “The Supreme Motion Picture Masterpiece of All Time,” audiences flocked to “Ben-Hur” after its premiere.

First Presbyterian Church is located at 101 E. Foothill Blvd. Parking is free, suggested donation is $7. For more information call (626) 358-3297 or email David@fpcmonrovia.org.
