The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives responded to the 800 block of Lewiston Street in the City of Duarte, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of man.
Efrin Murillo, 28, of Duarte was found dead at the scene in the 800 block of Lewiston Street.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Murillo was sitting in the driver side of his vehicle when a gunman snuck up behind him and fired several rounds into the car, hitting him.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:41 p.m., the suspect is believed to be an adult male black. The victim an adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
