Checking In: Your Valentine’s Day LA Staycation Guide

Hey, procrastinators!
In case you haven’t heard, Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year. Why not sidestep a Monday morning hangover and book a staycation Saturday night instead. Sound good? Great. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite romantic spots for a perfect V-Day getaway.

line

The Line Hotel | Koreatown

With two well-regarded restaurants, a hidden ‘80s themed bar known for it’s great karaoke set-up and your ability to wake up with a vast view of the east-side hills, The Line is a design-heads dream sleepover locale. Pick out last minute gifts at their Poketo pop-up and prepare for a rowdy K-Town dance party that takes over the hotel bar come nightfall.

mama

Mama Shelter | Hollywood

One of LA’s newer home away from home finds is Mama Shelter, boasting other locations in Paris and Istanbul. Specifically for the lovers holiday they will be hosting a 2 PM checkout time with a bottle of champagne accompanied with strawberries. Cliches are cliche because they’re used often, and they’re used often because their good, no?

ace

Ace Hotel | Downtown

Count on downtown’s golden child to bring romance and excitement on the day of amorous affairs. The Ace will have a Birch and Bone pop-up providing Instagrammable floral arrangements, available in the lobby. In the evening, an event titled “Heavy Hearts” will play host to DJ sets from Jonny Pierce (The Drums), Emmy nominated voice actor John Roberts (Linda Belcher from Bob’s Burgers), DJ Gant Johnson (Cock & Soul, DEEP CLUB) and Dante Fried Chicken.

marmount

Chateau Marmont | West Hollywood

The classic icon is probably the most “Hollywood” place you can go in the city, but sometimes the creepiness and seediness of our town in a setting of old money luxury is a people watcher’s best friend. If you and your loved one are down for some acceptable food, weird encounters and eeriness that hasn’t been beat on our books, Marmont is it.
