Must Watch: Shaun Ross Breaks the Internet in BRÅVES Latest Video (NSFW)

It’s a shame really; so often we’re presented with creative collaborations that are visually appealing, but deviate from strumming those untapped emotional chords. In hindsight, this is likely what makes the latest video release from LA-based band BRAVES so unexpected and special.

For their track “Dust,” BRAVES introduces audiences to what can rightfully be described as imagery conjuring up words like evocative, challenging or disruptive. The video comes together and is given life by a muse-worthy performance from last year’s LAC Gentleman’s Issue cover star, supermodel, Shaun Ross.

Shot backwards and in black and white, Ross emerges from the ocean; his expression and demeanor somewhat indescribable– almost as if he’d just been birthed from the elements of the water moments before. Waves are thrown from his body, while BRAVES — comprised of the dual vocal delivery of twins Thorald and Jericho — bleed through over the melodic music production of Johnny What.

Musically and visually, “Dust” evokes hunger– a sort of primal, vulnerable and animalistic hunger that creates a pretty flawless video. Arguably, it’s one of the most satiating and effective independent music videos in recent memory. Seriously, it’s not safe for work, but what’s captured is very, very good for the soul. Intake the experience (and replay repetitively) below.
