In further preparation for El Niño, the City is planning on hosting a Sandbag Saturday event, scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2016. The event will be held at Recreation Park in Monrovia and will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. At the event, City staff will assist residents with filling sandbags, provide demonstrations on how to properly build sandbag debris walls, and educate on additional ways to best to prepare for the El Niño storms.
