hamlets ghost

Hamlet’s Ghost is a time-travel film about a modern Shakespearean actor who must travel back in time to confront enigmatic forces from the past and future. Walker Haynes, the director and lead actor in the film is a resident of Chapman Woods, Pasadena. This feature film was shot locally around Pasadena as well as in parts of Georgia, including the Springer Opera House in Columbus. This Victorian era opera house is reportedly haunted by the ghost of Edwin Booth, who actually performed Hamlet on stage just years after his brother’s demise. Hamlet’s Ghost was first screened at the Festival de Cannes Marche du Film, and has played and won awards at film festivals around the world. The film stars Haynes, along with Glen Mac, Creagen Dow and Ida Anderson. Well-known actors John Loprieno, Barbara Niven, and Stephanie Zimbalist round out the top billed cast.

Hamlet’s Ghost is approved for viewers ages 12 and up by the family-friendly Dove Foundation, and will open on December 11th and run for one week at the Playhouse 7 with five shows per day, including Q&A with the cast after the 7:30 p.m. shows on the 11th, 12th and 13th.

Tickets are available online through the Laemmle website (http://www.laemmle.com/films/40125) and at the Playhouse 7 box office.
