Evading and Grand Theft Auto in Arcadia

On Friday, Nov. 6, at about 8:10 p.m.., Arcadia police officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Second Avenue and Huntington Drive that was reported stolen out of the city of Pomona.  The driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The driver stopped in the area of Fifth Avenue and Huntington Drive to let a passenger out and then the pursuit continued. The pursuit continued and entered onto the eastbound 210 freeway. Arcadia police units entered tracking mode and an assisting police helicopter followed the vehicle. The suspect abandoned the vehicle in the city of Pomona and Pomona police department assisted in taking the suspect into custody.

The suspects were identified as Michael Gomez, 35 years old, of Pomona and Chelsea Casas, 25 years old, of Pomona.

This incident is being investigated by Arcadia Police Department Detectives.
